Spartacus is a fine tv show. For me, John Hannah was the standout performer, but all the cast, clever writing, plot twists and incredible action sequences made that series truly special.
^^prepare for a few sleepless nights! Smile
Just watched Frontier with Jason mamoa. Great story ,accents a bit dodgy ,but a great look and feel.
Annihilation.

From Alex Garland based on the Jeff VanderMeer novel. The story revolves around a strange swamp called "The Shimmer" that is possibly a first contact site, unfortunately all who have visited it have never returned.Horrific in places with some body splicing scenes it is stomach churning although the mid section of the film drags slightly its well worth a look.Supremely shot with great performances by Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
I thought Annihilation was superb. Mute wasn't great, but is something different, and well worth a look. Bright is the worst Netflix original movie, but again at least offers something a bit different.

With TV shows, Stranger Things is great, but I had my expectations raised by the hype and took a while to get into it. Jessica Jones series 1 is the best of the Marvel shows; Daredevil is OK, Luke Cage is good, but doesn't really go anywhere, and Iron Fist is fairly average. Defenders was decent, and Punisher starts slowly but gets better - although you need to watch Daredevil series 2 first.

I can't really get into GLOW, Orange Is The New Black, or anything like that.
Currently watching The Alienist. I read the book by Caleb Carr a few years ago and loved it and the series does not disappoint. Late 19th Century New York is captured well and the story still shocks.
