Quote: I think the one thing I do have going for me is that I already have a full time job. Golf isn’t my livelihood. Relative to the other players I will be playing against, it doesn’t really matter to me if I win or lose. I won’t be under the pressure they are under.

Huh

How dare he take the food from the mouths of those poor multi millionaire giolfers children.eek
Defending champion Neil Robertson is out after a 6-2 defeat to another Amateur.
This time it was John Astley causing the seismic shock.
Ryan Day, Jimmy White, Ken Doherty, Liang Wenbo and - alas - Barry Pinches all bit the dust yesterday.
Quote:World Snooker Tour chairman Steve Dawson says the manner of Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy's first-round UK Championship exits to amateurs has been "great" for snooker.

"These amateurs are not amateurs like you would find in golf where if they win they can't have any prize money. These guys earn the prize money they play for and £6,500 for any amateur is a significant amount which could lead to a springboard to their career.

Messrs Higgins, O'Sullivan, Wilson and Allen all through on Saturday.
Mark Selby is out after a 6-2 defeat to Hossein Vafaei. Ding Junhui is also out after a 6-3 loss to Sam Craigie.
And Mark Williams has been beaten in a deciding frame by Anthony Hamilton in a day of shocks.

Judd Trump made it safely through however.
Well done to Hamilton and Vafaei. When are people going to accept that Ding ain't gonna win the big one (at this rate he'll be lucky to win any other title)?
Ding cut a frustrated figure yesterday for sure.
Not sure even he knows what to expect anymore. Shame.
He's I think about the most senior player yet to win a Home Nations trophy too. He'd be smart to do that first because even schmucks like Murphy & Bingham worked out that HN is a deal worth going for. He hasn't even made a final, out of 22 chances so far.
