(and Thursday's free Europa League game is Anderlecht v Monaco).

Bit of a rip off in a way because they want people to pay for the privilege of watching their favourite teams' progress!! How the hell BT Sport ever won the CL bid is disgraceful - I hope their contract goes tits up before long so we can have it back on ITV or BBC!! Tongue: D! annoyed! Another example how well protected the sporting crown jewels are protected when it comes to TV rights
Despite how much our media hype up our league, psv and juventus have proven that out league is shit. Wouldn't it be funny if the great LVG failed to get united out of the group stages after all that money he spent whilst David Moyes got them to the quarter final?
The comentators on bt are just awful, hopefully they get clyve tyldsley on board

In all honesty, you must be a bit simple if you think that 2 or 3 results 'prove' anything.

PSV and Juventus rode their luck somewhat, but that's football and well done to them.
^Errr ok thanRolleyes to be honest you have to be a bit simple
If you take everything people say literally as well. For your benefit I should have said 'proves we are still shit'
I go by our results in the champions league the last three or four years.
I'm well aware that ten points seems to be the magical number to qualify. All 4 of our sides are capable of getting 3 wins and a draw from the 5 remaining games.
I personally think if you did not just zero in in one line of my post that much would have been obvious. Don't want to come across as a bit simple or anythingRolleyes

In the last 3 or 4 years England have always been (and still are now) ranked in the top tier of leagues by UEFA and therefore have the maximum number of Champions League places (4). Only Spain and Germany have the same allocation.

We are also in danger of losing a place in the Champions league due to our disappointing performances overall in the champions league and europa over the last few years. These things are cyclical and in the past I would say that we have at times had the best league in the world. But in my opinion, for the moment it's certainly not the case. According to the times we are in danger of losing a place in the champions league by start of 2017-18 season if our showing in europe does not improve.
Maybe the problems is we play through December and the rest of Europe take a winter break and I don't see that changing any time soon . Gary Lineker criticised us not having a break in
December but many purists probably feel it would be too much of a tradition to lose, bu where would you make the changes to make a break possible?
I don't think anything drastic needs to be done. It's all cyclical. The Italians dominated at first than the Germans dominated the champions league than the Spanish and than us. Last few years the Spanish and Germans are dominating, it won't last forever. At the moment out league is mediocre by top European standards but no reason why in 5 years time we can't dominate. We have the money and resources, it just that as previously stated if we don't improve our results in the next couple of seasons we could lose a place at the top table, so to speak.

Our league is the best in the world and by some distance. No other league even comes close.

In most European leagues the clubs in the bottom half of the table are just cannon fodder, whereas in the Premier League they are usually very strong.

Look at Burnley last season, as just one example. Eventually relegated but not before they took points off 4 of the top 5 clubs.
