England enjoyed a World Cup warm-up in Canberra today, making 364/6 against an ACT Invitational XI and bowling them out for 148. A more challenging match awaits on Wednesday against the Prime Minister's XI, ahead of Friday's tri-series opener against Australia in Sydney.
Not much of a test for England as only one of the Invitational XI is a professional.
Ian Bell cracked 187 against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra, leading England to 391/6 on a belter of a pitch. Stuart Broad's 4 for 40 from 8.1 overs bowled was a significant contribution to England's 60 run win as they bowled the opposition out for 331. I think Chris Jordan may have bowled himself out of the side though, as he was expensive for the second match in a row.
Jordan was expensive when he has had the chance in the past couple of series as well.

Best thing for England would be Pietersen shutting up, he is making an annoying noise on the outside and that's hardly helpful for any of the actual squad that is put up in front of the media.
Oh dear, as soon as England play a proper match they slump to 12/3. Let's hope things improve and Australia don't shred us completely.
After being 12/3, 33/4 and 69/5 England managed to reach 234 all out, thanks to a big innings of 121 from new captain Morgan.
It got worse England were 39-4. annoyed

It was just down to Captain Eoin Morgan making 121 from 136 balls to save England from total humiliation, as England ended up at 234 all out.

And this was against Australias back up bowlers.

Let hope that England make a good start with the ball
AB de Villiers today hit the fastest 50 over ODI century of all time in 31 balls against the West Indies.
He ended up getting 149 hitting 16 sixes along the way in a South African total of 439/2 in their 50 overs falling four runs short of the overall 50 over ODI team record.
Two other South African batsmen also scored centuries.
After the 3 wicket defeat to Australia last week England now take on India tomorrow, who were also beaten by Australia in their first match. Each country has to play the others twice in this "Tri Series" with the top 2 then meeting in the final.
Easy 9 wicket win against India today

England were brilliant with the ball, fabuous in the field, and solid with the bat.

Top performance
