Ireland were squeezed out of qualifying for the quarter finals as West Indies managed to go through on run rate in the end. It will be a big shame if the next World Cup is cut back to 10 teams as planned and countries like Ireland don't get to feature at all.

Which is sort of the point I was making.
It dawned on the other nations that the old way of playing limited overs cricket needed modification and so they all reacted accordingly.
Apart from England where T20 was born Rolleyes.
Oh the irony.
Surely the nation that gives T20 to the world should make use of its creation to aid their 50 over chances.
Obviously not England Rolleyes.

Easy victory today for South Africa over Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka were 133 all out. South Africa knocked them off for just the loss of 1 wicket
India made 302 -6 in their innings against Bangladesh.

In reply Bangladesh are 31-0 after 6 overs
A good effort by Bangladesh, although they lost by 109 runs in the end, having been bowled out for 193. They were truly in the match for the first 34 overs of India's innings, during which time India only made 150.
3rd quarter final

Australia v Pakistan (at Adelaide)

Pakistan 213 (49.5 ov)
Australia 216/4 (33.5 ov)

Australia won by 6 wickets and now meet India in the semi finals
New Zealand have beaten the West Indies in the last quarter final

New Zealand 393 for 6 in their 50 over. West Indies could only manage 250 all in reply
