Brilliant news regarding ya mum..that's fab geeze
Keeping everything crossed for Monday mate as everyone else is doin too.
Saw my doctor about the scan results this morning, here is what's going on...

Basically, I have a [roughly] centimetre-squared subependymal cyst on my brain. The cyst is a ball of fluid and pus that is pressing on the part of brain that controls speech and that is causing my current speech problems. Whilst that might not sound like great news, it is, because the list of things it could have been is very long and most of them are quite destructive and mostly fatal [like neurotoxic damage, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy or motor neurone disease.] Also, my brain stem functions are normal, so that rules out any issues with my central nervous system.

It is treatable and reversible, although I don't have a treatment plan yet. I'll see my neurologist again in October to discuss what's going to happen. I would assume the first thing to try is to reduce the amount of Methotrexate I inject every Thursday to normal levels [my Rheumatologist said to me 7 years ago that I should be able to tolerate above the recommended dose of MTX because I am a "big fella".] Maybe not big enough!

So I guess now would be the time to "mock me", if that is your choice. Personally, I'm just pissed off I've got to buy Christmas presents this year! Thanks again for the support.
I actually took a deep breath before clicking on the thread, mate, I'm so glad it's something treatable Smile
Good news mate, things are on the up from now onWinkWink
Excellent news that your condition though serious can be treated, keep your chin up and i hope your treatment goes well and you dont endure too much pain.
Well I'm very relived that your condition is treatable, just to echoe the sentiments of the whole forum if I could also wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you remain strong as I've been very impressed with the courageous attitude you have shown throughout which must be a very traumatic ordeal for you and your family to be going through.

Get well soon mate - We're all routing for you.
