After the world Cup does England go into the Euro Qualifiers with Rooney in the team?
Why not he's the 4th highest scorer for his country. Who would you replace him with that could cover as much ground, make as many passes and assists and score goals. I think the defence is the area that needs addressing not the strike force.
depends how he's playing at the time.

Like everyone, his place should be awarded on merit

"cover as much ground"? I think Leighton Baines would have something to say about that
Baines should be dropped if anybody, he's been terrible, Shaw should play vs costa rica and just stay as your left back for the euros and next world cup, if you qualify...

And Rooney should be used as a sub

I think you misunderstand me unless you feel Baines should be playing up front in Rooneys position Smile
Can't say at this present time ... Depends on who improves and who doesn't ... thos who don't improve don't play ... thos who do play...

What would he have to say?

England - Italy
Rooney covered 115.20m per minute (highest of any England player)
Baines covered 97.38m per minute (13th highest, ahead of only Hart)

England - Uruguay
Rooney covered 107.82m per minute (4th highest, although 2 of the 3 ahead of him were subs who played only 25 and 31 mins)
Baines covered 100.92m per minute (the 10th highest out of 14, ahead of Lambert, Jagielka, Sturridge and goalkeeper Hart)

No, this is actually what I think England should do, what is the point now you are out in playing with caution and playing players who have already failed, let the in experienced players show what they can do, just let them have fun and enjoy the game..
