(13-07-2013 19:06 )shylok Wrote: [ -> ]What possible commercial sense can there be in running 4 satellite channels showing the same adverts (simultaneously)?
Frequency sitting. Don't they lose the channels if they don't use them. Broadcasting any old crap means they get to use them at night and have them during they day another time. Sometime economics makes one weep.
It IS slow at the moment, but there are multiple causes. Ofcom has watered the channels down. If I was working at home I wouldn't bother with the daytime shows, unlike a few years back when Bang was full on. Second the economy is screwing everyone over. Even the taxman is feeling the pinch, the deal with Swiss authorities to tax secret bank accounts produced few billion less than expected. Third its the middle of summer, even ordinary TV is crapper than usual.
On the plus side, Ofcom is clamping down on video on demand, if it has its way the entire internet will be the same strength as Postman Pat and people off watching web porn will flock back live TV.

Well put eccels. Part of that was the gist of my original post which Rammy disagreed with.
I am convnced that the impact of more an more OFCOM 'interference' for lack of a better word is taking its toll on the commercial viability of the channels. This was/is of course planned and inevitable.
Sure, there are other factors at play too, and they all add 'fuel to the fire'. IMHO at this rate there will be casulties (unless the OFCOM censorship grip is lessened and/or the channels get more inventive)...
Anyway, whatever, it doesn't change the fact (as others have intimated here) that the output (day and in some cases night) is utter shite ATM!
Thanks
Shylok

Have you changed you're opinion then Rammy ?, last year you said the babe channels would go off TV and would go on-line this year or next year to avoid Ofcom rules, i disagreed with you, see our posts concerning this in the quoted posts below .
