Justin Rose didn't make it to the 1st tee to join Frankie & Tommy, his withdrawal gave Japan's Rikuya Hoshino a place in the 3-ball.
Saudi rebel Poulter was booed on the first tee. Patrick Reed decided to stir the pot by sporting a LIV cap, what a dickhead.

I wonder if he doesn't make the cut would this really be the last time we see him in the Open?
I may hate his guts, but I promise to be surprised if he doesn't keep trying, should he miss the cut.
Solid start from Rory on -6. Right in the hunt in the early stages (but we have been here before) I think that the weather is to become a little challenging as we move into the weekend. It would need too, otherwise the 'Old girl' is somewhat helpless in benign conditions, and the players will likely 'burn up' the course (as the fairways already are).
Doesn't look like the wind will b a major factor this week. Only the dry conditions & testing pin positions have so far kept the scoring in check.
Tomorrows early starters could get caught up in some rain, maybe a potential heavy shower or two.
Dustin Johnson done well on day 2. Tiger Woods, less so.
Is it the last time we see Woods in the Open?
Really like the look of the leaderboard, a good few major champions, but even more that are trying to bag their first.

Well, yesterday I said No, and guess what? Today I'm going to stick with No.

I mean, I did believe his confidence beforehand that he could at least make the cut, not that he had a cat in hell's chance of winning.

If Mark Calcavecchia and particularly David Duval are still willing and able to come slogging around and propping up the table, then he might as well. Duval, especially, given how things panned out for him.
It would be a shame if it wa the last time at St. Andrews for Woods
BBC reporting suggesting he WAS making his last St Andrews appearance, so...

...could the trophy be going to Norway? Should be a good last day. Listened to some of the 5live commentary earlier, partly because I was dozing...
