A friend of mine who works in broadcasting says that there is a new EU law proposed which will outlaw all the adult channels. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned here. Has anyone else heard about it?
The proposal is actually to ban all forms of pornographic material throughout the EU.

There is this on the Daily Mail site

Will porn be banned in Europe? EU set to vote on internet crackdown

I can think of a few mums who will be pleased to get their basements back when their middle aged sons arent locked in them watching webshows 24/7 Smile
Wouldn't it be ironic if a porn ban was struck down by the European Court of Human Rights?
Banning porn? What next? Ban people enjoying themselves? Rolleyes.
They were talking about this vote on either Sky news or BBC news this morning (can't remember which one), apparently the vote is not about banning porn but banning the advertisement of porn, that's what they said on tv this morning anyway,.
Ofcom regard the phone in babe channels as adult content advertising by the way, but i don't think they are regarded by Ofcom as porn .
Thing what bugs me, i'm fed up of the tiny minority telling the majority what to do, what they should watch and what they think is good and safe for them to watch; especially when these self same people will no doubt be yanking their chains to the same material they say we should not be watching.

It's the same with film censorship, that should only be banned if the people or animals are actually distressed or hurt, other than that, any form of consensual make believe fantasy should be allowed.

I watch no end of fulci, argento uncut video nasties and I'm perfectly well adjusted. annoyed

But how would it be possible for anyone to supply adult material if they weren't allowed to advertise it?
agree with mrmystery. its not about banning porn in the eu, its about the advertising of porn and looking at restricting access to it online to stop children from accessing it. if ive read the daily mail article here correctly

cant see porn being banned because of the money and jobs it generates in europe as well. so cant see it being banned for that reason as well
