Wow remy choosing qpr is a kick in the teeth for Newcastle fans and pardew
(14-01-2013 22:01 )munch1917 Wrote: [ -> ]Word is Loic Remy is off to QPR.

Harry has stepped in at the last minute and pinched him from under Newcastle's noses. No doubt he is opening up a swiss account in the name of Remy's pet hamster right now, all legit of course!
Rumours they are offering him 80grand a week. That's crazy money for the club at the bottom of the table, and they are chasing Yann M'vila as well, presumably he'd command something similar.

Seems like a crazy deal all round, QPR need to shift some overpaid deadwood before they bring in players on those sort of wages. I just don't see how they can balance the books with deals like this. If this all goes through, the end result could be catastrophic for the club. I can't see them surviving no matter what, so what happens if they go down, either they are in the Championship paying premiership wages, or the players have a release clause and move elsewhere, requiring more purchases and rebuilding.

Smacks of Portsmouth all over again!

I'm gutted.

I thought we had Remy in the bag and that the deal was going smoothly.

Apparently though we only offered half the wages QPR are willing to give Remy, so I guess our tight wage structure has caused us to miss on Remy, who would have been a great squad addition. I know he has only scored one goal this season for Marseille, but I still believe he would have been a useful addition to the squad.

I would be very surprised if QPR managed to get M'Vila as well. How does a club like QPR, who are struggling in the Premier League and get someone like M'Vila when he has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal? I agree with Munch that if these potential new signings for QPR don't pay off then they are fucked big time. Although with the quality they are looking to bring in then I can see them staying up with the skin of their teeth.

As for Newcastle well this is obviously a kick in the balls and we just have to get over it and look elsewhere. Maybe we should step away from the French market for a while and look at the Dutch, German and maybe even the Spanish market and find those Michu bargain deals. I don't know, who we will we go for, but have to get a move on if we are to survive from relegation this season.
You would have thought cabaye, Ben arfa etc would have got in the ear of remy and make Newcastle appealing but looks like that wernt the case

Apparently Barton got in his ear as you say and was saying how great life is at Newcastle, but I guess it hasn't convinced Remy to move to Newcastle.

i think as a rule everybody in the world should do the complete opposite of what joey barton tells them!
First we had all this talk about Debuchy will we get him won't we the saga went on far to fucking long now we have Remy now if the boy wants to sign great its another striker and its obvious we need one... But if he doesn't want to sign and hold out for more money then Pardew please move the fuck on and concentrate on some one else!!! Personally i have never been a great fan of Remy ive seen him do some good things in the past but the kid still has never lived up to his full potential bit like Bollotelli everyone who has worked with him say he has something but where is it ? Remy is older than Mario of course and still has not lit up the world goal scoring record is not the best and that is in the French League... If he signs for QPR best of luck in the Championship next year pal
Its very strange how Remy refused to talk to QPR last week and now all of sudden his changed his mind, according The Daily Mail QPR are willing to pay double the wages Newcastle were offering thats if its true but wouldn't shock me there.
Can just imagine Harry giving it the old Newcastle's in the middle of nowhere, come to London for double the wages, I'm getting x,y and z in and were gonna shoot up the league and be in Champions League in a season or two kind of spiel...

Wheeler dealer is Harry Rolleyes
