New series starts tomorrow night (the Live Show has moved from Tuesdays to Thursdays - the longer version is still Fridays, I think)
Last one last night. That went quick. I don't think any of the changes for this series worked well Sad
Taped the Hootenanny thing. Given the number of drunk male celebs, it's a wonder they don't tack an extra hour on for karaoke. Surely Ainsley Harriot and Vic Reeves would like a turn with Jools' precious R&B "Orchestra"? Seems a shame to restrict it to the likes of Eddi Reader and Rick Astley somehow.
New series started last week. Seems to be a more intimate 1-2-1 format thanks to lockdown.
Last one last night. The enforced format has been an improvement, nice to hear from Hugh Laurie and Ellie Goulding for example. I never quite understand why they sit on what must be a massive archive going back nearly 30 years, except in very rare occasions. Take this Luther Vandross moment:

The problem with the Jools Holland series is they seem to think it has to feature Jools Holland.
Now if they could only fix that non-mandatory item....
Rather him than Mark Radcliffe. If Fearne Cotton would learn the kazoo, they might let her take over.
Back again on Friday, with his first guest somehow being whoever wins tonight's Mercury Music Prize. Hmm...
Last one last Friday. Nice mix of oldies like Robert Plant and Jarvis Cocker, as well as newer names like Celeste and Michael Kiwanuka.

He's hopeful of being able to do a Hootenanny, but we'll have to see...
A new series started last night with Arlo Parks as his guest. Presumably it's cheap and easy telly to make under social distancing rules.
