Oh thanks. I was going to look into that, soon. Saw some kids being taught by adults, the other day, and was tempted to join in, lol
I've been lucky with the weather this week. I work in the morning, and round my way, the sun wasn't hitting until later in the afternoon, so I had more comfortable riding temperatures Smile

Word of advice, now is the time to start looking round for next winters cycling gear, as they sell off this seasons stock to make room for the summer stuff. I just got an Altura waterproof jacket for 20 bucks. They were originally over a ton, but these ones are now discontinued, and with the time of year, they are giving them away Big Grin

I think next up is a good water bottle and cage, and possibly a handlebar cage to make the bottle easier to grab for the summer riding. Oh, and some lighter gloves. I like to wear full fingered gloves most of the time, but mine are just a bit too bulky for this weather.
Where did you get your jacket from Munch ? Good idea by the way!!

I can't believe I haven't fitted a cage and haven't got a water bottle yet. I was out yesterday and felt really hot and dehydrated and didn't even have a drink in my bag.

I've got some Scott gloves that I haven't had a problem with in this heat. They are full finger but my hands haven't sweated in them really. I got them for £12 in a sale.

Had a bloody good ride today, loving the summer sun and being able to ride around. I just wish some of the drivers would show a bit more respect on the roads.

...

Platinum Cycling, check their ebay store :

I got the Altura Reflex jacket.

Ebay is a good source for this sort of thing, many stores setup ebay shops to sell discontinued lines or seconds etc which can't be sold through their primary channels, the likes of Sports Direct, and even Argos and shopping channels like BidTV are doing it Smile

EDIT : Been looking for this for some time. I saw it on BBC some years ago, it's a documentary called 'Pedal' about bike couriers in New York. It amazed me at the time, some of the things they did to get around were insane :

It's 52 minutes long, if you don't have time for that, check this shorter piece, showing a race across NY, and be warned ... do not try this at home!!

Has anyone ever considered getting a bamboo bike, check out this article

What is the jacket like, i got a muddy fox one from sports direct £10.99 but its a sweat bag, it cant breath so when i get warm the inside of the jacket gets all condensated and gets me soaked. does yours have the same problem?

The jacket is very good and allows your body to breathe. However the ones in stock are only in XXL which is why I guess they're selling them so cheap.

Well worth putting the site Munch mentioned on my favourites list, will keep an eye on it from time to time.

LODOS - I came across this jacket earlier in a sale http://www.extremepie.com/Fox+MTB+Vapor+...0/8854.htm I don't know if that is any good for you.

I got an extra large, but they only had a few left when I got it, guess they went quickly.

I had a couple cheaper jackets before and they were worse than useless, not even showerproof, and made you sweat like crazy, it's well worth spending the little extra for a decent one designed for cycling (even more so with waterproof trousers).
I have a Ron Hill showerproof jacket which I wear even in the current temperatures, and I don't get overly sweaty in it. It has a webbing vent in the armpits to help with the air circulation, and when its really warm, I just open the zip a bit.
The Altura one has a long split across the back to do a similar ventilation job, with the top piece overlapping to keep it watertight.

EDIT : meant to mention that they have some Altura Nevis jackets in L and XXXL for 20 bucks, which may be worth a look, very similar to the Reflex I got.

Thanks for this advice. I almost bought one today from Sports Direct, in store, and remembered your post, then placed it back on the hanger.

I bought this Tapout MMA top, today http://www.sportsdirect.com/tapout-quart...e=62800191 which is zippered at the neck, so it's actually unsuitable for MMA training, but it's turned out to be a surprising comfortable cycling top. I cycled roughly 8 miles back from the store, today, wearing it. I'm a huge MMA fan, so I'm really pleased with this purchase Smile

I also bought socks http://www.sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-bik...ack-414086 and this muddy fox cycling top http://www.sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-cyc...ens-636182 I picked the red one purely to match my cycling gloves.
And all for under £30 Smile But I'll be paying that bit extra on pay day for a decent jacket, ect.

Cycled as much as I dared to, today, on the roads, but realised quickly that I could sort of tag along close behind other cyclists' and follow their lead when I wasn't sure what to do at busy junctions.
They must have been thinking I was playing some weird game of copycat, lol.
