OK so channel 915 then, so progress at long last being made, to answer the burning question is it still possible to watch the night show via the manual tuning option and then selecting it from the other channels because surely Eurotic aren't going to cut the satelite feed at 9PM, it may very well be off the EPG for legal reasons but surely the manual tuning option can still provide us with ongoing coverage Cool

I'm not sure it's this simple. Once ETV is up and running on 915 I don't think it matters whether you view it via 915 or through the manually tuned option, you're still going to get exactly the same feed.

Put in simple terms, if 915 switches to a ten-minute preview for Climax at 10pm, and then encrypts, what you would get if you switched to the manually tuned option would be ten-minutes preview for Climax and then encryption.

Or put even more simply, what you see on 915 is exactly what you'll see if you watch it via the manually tuned option, regardless of the time of day:

Channel 915 via Sky EPG at 23:30 (a blue screen asking you to enter your PIN for the Climax encrypted show)

Channel 915 via manual tuning at 23:30 (a blue screen asking you to enter your PIN for the Climax encrypted show)

Climax will be in control of the broadcast, not eUrotic.
Stan's right.

There won't be a eUrotic satellite feed on Astra 28.2. They'll just pipe the signal to Playboy to upload, using the usual telecomms links. That's how all the other channels do it.

There's no way that eUrotic would broadcast their own feed on Astra 28.2 just for the day show - far too expensive and also pointless as they're using Playboy's channel and Playboy is the licensee.

Sorry it's not better news Scottishbloke! Smile
Yes I have come to the general acceptance now that everything is done and dusted for the time being that we'll just have to be content with the day show, but that's not to say that the nightshow cannot be looked at again as an option someway further down the line. But ultimately until Ofcom lightens up their rules then it's going to be a long time in waiting, I think getting the channel 24/7 is going to have to be now through another satelite. The nightshow will come to SKY at some time in the future, that I have no doubt about, but as to when is like asking how long a piece of string is. Channel 915 has all but killed off the dream unless they decide to broadcast via encryption which can be included in the Playboy package as a bonus, now that is wishful thinking on my part, but then again, why not Smile

Big Laugh You don't give in, do you? Channel 915 (Climax) have their own encrypted nightshow, so how would your suggestion even work?

Anyway, not that this means anything, but I've just skimmed through the next 7 afternoons for 915 on the Sky planner and there's no sign of eUrotic.
Oh how the world loves a smartass, Stan the man with the supposed inside knowledge only to then reveal after being quized on his sources that he just made it all up to stir the thread up. Also Stan seems to think that the show will run from 04:30 to 21:00 on channel 915, only one small problem he forget to mention is that Channel 915 is encrpted right up to 0530. Also worth mentioning too is Stan can allready recieve this channel 24/7 anyway as he has Hotbird so he's not bothered in the very least that all we'll get is the dayshow, if the shoe was on the other foot would he be so dismissive of how we the SKY viewers might be able to get round the problem with also seeing the night show, no, I doubt it, my advice is unless anybody has anything further that is constructive to the topic then best say nothing as the only thing smartass comments do is devalue the subject and it achieves nothing.
It was everybody else that supposed I had 'insider knowledge', and all from one throw-away comment about me not being able to reveal my sources. I claimed nothing of the sort.

For the record, all the info I gave in 'that' post did come from a reliable source, but it was nothing other people couldn't have discovered if they'd chosen to.

And I really fail to see how me forcing you to accept some truths about ETV broadcasting on Sky makes me a 'smartass'. Yes, I can already receive ETV via the dish I have pointed at hotbird, but so can you. The only difference being I can get it through my tv where as you would have to use the internet - however we both receive it the content is the same, so why do you consider I'm in such a privileged position?
Ok fair comment Stan it just sounds a little like you were trying to mock me in your last post, hence the reason I replied with so much vigar. As it stands I can only get SKY TV due to the fact I stay in a block of flats which has a communal dish and does not allow for others to go up so Hotbird or Astra 1 is currently not an option for me Huh On the subject of the internet live stream, it's woeful, really really bad quality, it freezes all the time and the picture quality is like looking through a shit stained window, so obviously I am trying to come up with suggestions that could get the night show on SKY without somebody else coming in and shooting it down the manner in which you did, you have hotbird but others don't so ofcourse you are going to be in a privileged position so it won't bother you one jot so long as it doesn't affect you and that's the way you came across. I have come up with another suggestion Stan which no doubt you'll also try and shoot down but it would be good if you could support this one for a change. Eurotic TV under licence to Playboy could air their own separate channel that would only be available to view if you have a subscription to Playboy TV so it would be encrpted but would only be seen as an extra bonus to the existing package, this I feel could work.

A possibility but not too sure how many people are keen on FTV vs FTA as it means a $ky box not a FreeSat unit. It would suggest that Playboy would need to multiplex yet another video & audio stream into the already congested 11.390V transponder they run all their content off of.

Don't forget though that every channel that's in the EPG attracts a price to pay to BskyB, and that isn't cheap.

They should release the bandwidth that channel 951 (Babe Guide) consumes as it's a waste of time and it's really just an advert channel that can't bring in much revenue.

eUrotic would then fight it out with ChatGirl as to who gets a night show from the released capacity.
951 is certainly available but I'm not sure what kind of encryption could be used at night. As Stan said recently, there's no way people would pay the going rate for an encrypted channel in eUrotic's case as it's far too soft.

Maybe Scottishbloke's idea of Playboy bundling eUrotic with an existing encrypted package as a bonus would work, with 951 being the bonus night-time stream, encrypted in the same way as the other Playboy channels.

In fact it's odd that Playboy haven't offered eUrotic 951 during the day as it's fta. Putting the channel on 915 means that anyone without a Sky viewing card can't see it. Perhaps it was a typo on the channel request form! Wink
