But then I began to enjoy seeing Joanne's off show antics, as well as checking out some of her YT clips, which made me really like her, so began to watch Ore more closely. While before tonight's show I was still convinced the title would go to Danny or Louise if he messed up.... With how well Ore & Joanne danced this evening it would've been a total travesty for them not to have won at the end of it. I think he also came the furthest distance; that frikkin 'journey' word they use; in terms of how bad he was at the beginning to how he ended up looking every bit the professional next to Joanne.

Therefore; in my often contested opinion, the correct person/couple won.

Even though I don't agree with the method in which you arrived at your chosen winning couple (Ore "all the way through" looking "smug, self-satisfied and putting on a false act of modesty" - which is all complete folly in my opinion, I actually thought he was the most humble of any contestant from any series and the tears and emotion I felt were genuine), I do agree that the best couple on the night won the title.

I do have to say that I thought Danny was benefiting from judges bias - particularly from Darcey and Craig who over scored not just in the final, but also in previous later rounds of the series.

Louise's Showdance for me was better than the Argentine Tango, but she did look very wooden during the Flashdance routine. That was a dodgy start that she ultimately failed to recover from.

Ore is a deserved winner, all three final dances for me were ahead of the other two couples. He and Joanne put more in to their routines. Made up for Joanne too - always loved her - I was really excited to see her back in the line-up and a nice bit of friendly sibling rivalry on show when she defeated elder brother Kevin in the final.

A really well performed group routine and a nice tribute to exiting judge Len towards the end too. A really enjoyable final overall with for me, and nothing to do with any suspected other issues, the correct result. Already looking forward to series 15 next year. The show remains a highlight of weekend television and long may it continue.

I even heard Len cheer when his name was announced and looked absolutely gutted when he screwed up his first dance.
Amazing...how people see things differently all the judges (including Len ) have said in interviews that they was glad Ore won as it was in the spirit of SCD to start from zero...then why choose Danny etc??
I
An interesting series in so many ways and one where I found myself often disagreeing vehemently with the apparent public consensus.

However by the end I was in three minds. The best performing couple in the final won (Ore and Joanne).
The best performing couple over the series lost out (Danny and Oti)
My favourite couple of the series lost out (Louise and Kevin). I know a lot felt they were a bland and beige partnership but I found them very engaging.

I suspect the type of showdance Ore and Joanne did went down extremely well. Had a feel of the Tom Chambers showdance that proved so popular in years gone by.

I have to say I was not overly enamoured with any of the showdances but the showdances have often felt a real let down to my mind in the past so I was not surprised.

Overall though a great series in so many ways and I enjoyed it immensely.
Best wishes to Len Goodman.
I think I should organise the showdances.....Oti being fisted by Louise whilst the rest of the Strictly girls give them a golden shower..whilst standing on the judges desk..HeartHeartImportantCoolBig GrinBig GrinBig GrinTongue
