Yes it is, but it's 20% of the price, you don't just add 20 (unless the price is 100, of course!).

So if something costs £27 then it is £27 times 1.2 = £32.60

It was just a good coincidence that Adele's supposed age was almost her real age when VAT was applied ie just under 33
