Simple Thread. Any great sporting moment you can think of in terms of drama, nailbiting finales, controversies, celebrations, achievements, comebacks and pure emotion and adrenaline, this is the thread.

I'll start if off with this. In terms of cricket match rivalries, it does not get bigger than India vs Pakistan. So India and Pakistan met in the final of the world twenty/20. The match came down to the final over, and Pakistan needed 13 runs of the final 6 balls to win the first ever twenty/20 world cup.

In terms of drama, this one was up there, being an India fan I went ballistic at the end in terms of my celebrations.

OMG that looked epic, to be a part of that or watch it live. Nothing beats last minute winners. I wish i was around at that time. Sadly i was born a year after that
im a big athletics fan and jonathan edwards did 2 consecutive jumps over 18 metres in the world champs in 1995. very rarely do people get over 18 metres nowadays, so i can see his world record not getting beat for decades, hes already held it for 16 years now. also that year he jumped 18 metres 43 cm but it was over the legal limit so it didnt stand as a world record. theres not been alot of british sporting greats but he was deffo one.
Bob Willis - Ashes - Headingley 1981

Jonothan Edwards, what a Legend he is. One of the few british sportsman who excelled in the olympics of recent times. Great post, malicous fan

Wow just look at the agression from Willis in that spell, the way that first bouncer just up fired off the ground and then got a nick off the batsmen's edge. Seriously agressive bowling
harmisons bouncer to ponting at lords in 2005 ashes series, setting the tone for the rest of the series

gary pratt running out ponting in the same series

flintoff running ponting at lords 2009

flintoff's greatest over ever 2005

edgbaston 2005 the greatest match ever in the greatest test series - especially when flintoff shook hands and embraced lee at the end
Great thread idea NarcissistSmile!

Simple one for me really, even though as a sports fan in general there are loads of other truly great goosepimples moments I could recall! But I actually was at the 1999 Champions League Final, row 17 right behind the goal where all the drama took place. Sadly, it was just all-too surreal to comprehend at the time, such was the speed at which circumstances, and with it emotions, changed. I prefer not to look back but to move on so I seldom watch this, but whenever I do it does bring it all backSmile
