Mark Cavendish
Tom Daley
Jessica Ennis
David Haye
Tony McCoy
Graeme McDowell
Graeme Swann
Phil Taylor
Lee Westwood
Amy Williams

Interesting line up. No footballers at all (rightly so after our shitty World Cup) and I think it might be the first time McCoy and Taylor make it. Good line up. McCoy, McDowell and Westwood I see as the early favourites.

I would like see either Phil 'The Power' Taylor or David Haye win the award for Sports Personality Of The Year.
Thanks for the replies guys and agreeing with me about the refreshing lack of footballers in the shortlist. I don't think Haye and Taylor have a chance, Haye because of his last fight and Taylor despite his dominance in the sport, darts doesn't get the best rep as a "sport" which it is. Taylor's victory is getting on the shortlist. McCoy has an outside chance but I can't see it, Ennis, McDowell and Westwood are the frontrunners to win for me.
G Mac for me.US Open and winning match in Ryder Cup.Good guy too.
I'd love to see Taylor win it, if not him Westwood
I say McCoy. Cavendish the alternative if it was down to me.
David Haye... when he fights its like David v Goliath
i too would like to see Taylor win it anyone who can dominate their profession like he has for years deserves recognition.
Mcoy or David Haye
McCoy is my favourite, very well deserved.

I hope The Power has a realistic chance of winning though. To dominate a sport for as long as he has, winning time and time again is no mean feat.
If its about consistency through the year then Taylor deserves to win. If its about consistency through a decade then Taylor should win. If its about smashing record after record within a chosen sport and dominating it for years then Taylor should win. But he won't because there are too many people who either do not view darts as a sport or/and do not have SKY to watch most of his success.
