Then, once they buy it, phone them every day and try to sell them the other one.
Thats a very good idea mate lol.
I've got to blow off steam about this! I'm in the process of packing my entire fucking life into boxes since my landlord has decided that january; freezing cold, wet, windy JANUARY! is the best time to renovate the bungalow we live in! As you can imagine I'm less than chuffed about it... I have to pack away every damned thing I own to protect it from the dust, the cooker has to be disconnected for the first week while the kitchen gets done, meaning I can only eat take-aways or stuff out of a microwave, the fridge freezer has to go into the out-house, my phone line will be down for a few days so there'll be no web access, my sattellite dish will be taken down so I can't watch Sky on a night time and as if all of that wasn't bad enough for the first couple of days I won't have any central Fucking HEATING in the middle of FUCKING WINTER!! I know this wasn't as light hearted as some of my other rants but I'm seriously hacked off about all of it. At some point in the next few days, I'll have to set my profile to "away" once the work gets started. I'm not a happy scarecrow at the moment!
Really sorry to hear that mate.
Work starts on monday, so at least I've got some semblance of normality until then. I'm busy packing all of our shit away this week, you don't realise how much crap two people accumulate until you have to find somewhere to store all of it! We've decided to "store" most of it at the municipal dump! If we hadn't used it for more than a month thar baby is gone!
I feel your pain about the heating. You really don't appreciate it until you lose it. I just moved out of a place with shite heating about three month ago. So glad to now be in a decent place. On the brightside at least you have a landlord willing to improve the property for you. Most would wait until they needed to attract a new tennant before doing anything.
We had housing inspectors around last year, apparently the houses in the estate we live on are, and I quote "...unfit for human habitation as the properties currently stand and will need significant modernisation to be suitable for modern living..." we only have one power outlet per room for instance. In order to plug in everything that needs plugged in, we rely on a complicated, and quite possibly dangerous, arrangement of plugging multi-bars into three-point adapters and so on. The local council sold all of its houses to an association who were willing to undertake a 35 million pound program of development in the village. I'm all for that, but January FFS! Couldn't they have waited until June or July? It won't be so bad for me the wife as we're both young, but all of our neighbours are pensioners. Bloody bad organisation if you ask me! Still, at least everything will be fantastic when they finish. The builders reckon middle of February for our place, but since it was builders who said that I'm expecting them to finish sometime in AugustBig Grin
well that sucks mate sorry to hear that Sad
