If Prigozhin and his band of merry men can just waltz into Southern Command without a fight, he's either got huge support in the Military in which case Putin, Shoigu et al are well & truly fucked, or this is all staged...

If it's a genuine coup attempt they're sitting in a very vulnerable place and the drive to Moscow won't be a pleasant one.

Putin's plane popped up on flight trackers leaving Moscow for St Petersburg but the track disappeared after the transponder was turned off.

Prigozhin has apparently agreed to pull his forces back to field camps in return for security assurances for Wagner and promises that changes will be made at the Ministry of Defence.

The deal was supposedly brokered by Lukashenko.


Bizarre. If that's even remotely accurate then Putin's authority is pretty much gone.

two questions:
Is Putin scared of Wagner and if so, is there any kind of safe haven for Putin outside of Russia, should Belarus collapse?

Should the West be more concerned of Wagner seizing power?

My understanding is that Prigozhin is going to Belarus.

which is dangerous for Ukraine was it all a ploy to move wagner forces to belarus so they can start a front going down to Kyiv

In completely unrelated news, apparently the FSB have just ordered some new umbrellas!!

I get the feeling they are looking to counter attack from Belarus with regards to attempting a pincer move to cut off any ukrainian forces.

Wagner forces aren't going to Belarus, it's just Prigozhin. Wagner forces are being offered the chance to signup with the Russian army.
