The State of the UK Union in 2022

They’ll have to come up with something better than Project Fear if another independence referendum comes around.

I’m sure they’d still shamelessly wheel out all the ridiculous Project Fear arguments about economic hardship — because hypocrisy is allowed now — but how believable will it be after 5 years of selling the utopian dream about ‘taking back control’?

I voted no for 3 main reasons.

1) Lack of a convincing economic plan.
2) Lack of access to the EU single market.
3) Being ruled over by Emperor Eck (fucking twat).

Well, Eck's gone, and I think it would be easier to get, maybe a Norway style, deal with the EU, now the UK as a whole is out.

So if they can come up with a convincing economic argument (which would now have to not be dependant on oil revenue), I'm in.

Those on the unionist side of the independence debate are kicking up a fuss about the Scottish Government allocating £20 million for the administration costs for organising Indyref2, even though the SNP and the Scottish Greens have manifesto commitments to hold Indyref2 within the lifetime of this term of the Scottish Parliament.

Ami I right in thinking that in the last independence referendum more young Scottish voters voted no than yes? I couldn't remember?

If this one goes ahead are we likely to se a more seismic shift away towards independence?

I dont see one happening for another 10 years at least no leader in westminister is going to allow one especially tory leaders. how long can the SNP carry on being the govt in power without of people getting sick of them

I could be wrong but i can see an ireland / N ireland one happening before another scotland one

It's more down to religion than age.
Too many union jack waving, god save the queen singing rangers fans who pledge allegiance to the crown.

Do we know what Scottish independance would look like.
Would Scotland keep the pound as a currency?
Would there just be one armed forces?
Even down to would there just be a BBC for the whole of Britain?

Brexit proved that all the details need to be nailed down before any referendum.

Scotland would have its own armed forces, but the SNP say that the remaining UK woud be welcome to take all the nuclear weapons.

An independent Scotland would not want the BBC. The SNP want broadcasting to be devolved anyway, even without independence.

Would the rest of Britain be prepared to let Scotland use our currency? I certainly would not want a financially novice country being a drag on the value of Sterling (This Govt can ruin our currency themselves )
