Nobody has to sign anything do they? You just access your account online and change the settings.

Yeah that's right Barrie. Just go into settings and turn filter off

The answer is yes, if you're a Talktalk user anyway. I just switched on my Talktalk filter out of sheer curiosity, to see how it worked. It blocked me from using this forum. Important

Since I am posting this message it goes without saying that I've switched the filter off again. It said allow 2 minutes for new settings to take effect, but it was more like 10 seconds. Cool

Thank you for conducting the experiment. And welcome back to the forum after your brief absence!

SOCATOA needs to have a rethink. Because I activated my Talktalk safe filter today to see how it worked and yes it did block tobacco and alcohol sites, as well as porn sites.

I tried that and the forum appears! So that makes it a crap filter than if it's bypassed that easily. Rolleyes

Mind you it wouldn't let me login. I had to turn the filter off again before I could login to post this message.

Your mother would have to give you the account password in order to access the settings, if you don't know what it is.

This makes total sense, because the filter regards you as viewing the google website, not the forum itself.
