The Best Sporting Moments You Have Witnessed

lindor 1999 champions league final was the last i time wanted man utd to win. great final great drama, also liverpool v milan 2005 was another great final.

great sporting moments does not have to be about winning or losing. derek redmond showing the true omplyic spirit like so many gone before him and after him. (i did not see it at the time but see footage of it since)

this guy was a total outsider but this goes to show anything can happen even in the olympic games and he won the gold medal.

That Ashes test series was the best test series I have ever seen. I saw all those games live on channel 4. The drama was there in every single day of the 5 tests. The whole nation got into it, no wonder they called it Ashes fever. Great choice, really, very good, for one of the best sporting moments ever witnessed.

Simple one for me really, even though as a sports fan in general there are loads of other truly great goosepimples moments I could recall! But I actually was at the 1999 Champions League Final, row 17 right behind the goal where all the drama took place. Sadly, it was just all-too surreal to comprehend at the time, such was the speed at which circumstances, and with it emotions, changed. I prefer not to look back but to move on so I seldom watch this, but whenever I do it does bring it all back

The best sporting moments are any time that a British team beat a German team at sport.... as a follow on to Winning the World Cup in 1966.

I remember when Manchester United beat Bayern Munich in 1999 to win the UEFA Champions Cup. And they were losing 1-0 going into injury time. They scored twice in two mins.

Then in the World Cup quailify match v Germany in Munich in 2001.
England went 1-0 before thrashing Germany 1-5. And Michael Owen scored a hat-trick.

But the best moment was when Great Britain played West Germany in the 1988 Olympic final at Men's Hockey (I'm not normally a hockey fan)
We had a top shooter in Sean Kerly and went on to win 3-1.
"Where, oh where were the Germans? And frankly, who cares?" screamed commentator Barry Davies as Imran Sherwani scored Great Britain's third goal to seal gold.
