RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
all i want to know is why some channels feel it necessary to go to severe measures whilst others are obviously less restrictive,it makes no sense to me that if a channel is doing nothing wrong why tame down their shows when they know it will result in loss of revenue and lose viewers ,hari kiri is the only explanation that comes to mind, i would also like to add that nothing on this earth is not excused from making the odd mistake ie:from a talk show host letting slip a swear word(dave allen springs to mind) so the babe channels should be judged exactly the the same not fined a ridiculous sum of money what could see them go under, if the odd nip slip or knicker elastic gives way, what does seem to be coming more apparent is that ofcom are on a mission to end all the babe channels but if the owners of the channels are not up to putting up a fight ,what chance have us lot got of altering things apart from bombarding ofcom or our mp"s with our comments which to yet have not altered a thingSad

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
Nothing much to report this week. The weekly list of current investigations does not indicate any fresh complaints against the Babe Channels although one such complaint against Red Light 2 NOT recorded in previous weekly lists has been found 'Not In Breach' in the latest bulletin.

This 'Not in Breach' finding against RLC is NOT one of the nine current pro-active investigations against this broadcaster.

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
Ofcom is taking the place of Speed Cameras - keep moving the goalposts - lie about the reason they are there ( protecting public decency Huh ) and hide the real reason they are there raising money by ripping off the punter through putting the channels out of business

It might actually have conned the gullible if it weren't for the fact that they are actually encouraging inappropriate programming on the so called terrestrial channels who seem to be able to "breach" the rules applied to the babe channels prior to 10pm (in fact usually at 9.01pm) and in addition promote these programmes throughout the early evening.

What a set of shysters!!!annoyed

21.02 in fact tonight. BBC2 'Three Men Go To Venice'. Griff Rhys Jones sat naked on a boat with just a packet of peanuts protecting his modesty. More later on in the programme.

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
well if they wont fight there corners they deserve every kicking they get... sooner or later there gonna have to say enough is enough and either call it a day or call out ofcom...
i guarantee it will be later and by then the shows will be so tame there no longer profitable... in-fact many of them now aren't profitable snd it has a lot to do with ofcom breaking the law and inventing its own laws.

all the channels have to do is stand up to em in a meaningful way... its all well and good saying it may cost people there jobs but hasnt it already... bang going under put 30+ girls out of work and they were only pushing it, to get more callers because the shows were so tame that the callers lost interest.
most of the time there found in breach of harm yet none of the channels ask who has been harmed, and do they have any proof of harm. or ask for a tribunal at least... do something instead of bending over and saying thank you every time ofcom ream them...
honestly i dont know why we still discuss it here as we have seen the channels will make any excuse not to stand up to ofcom, even when ofcom are acting like bullys... as far as the channels are concerned its us not them that pay the fines. as long as there producers get payed they dont give a fuck. so why should we.

Fuck me! If Ofcom have eight in-breach findings against Elite from this year then there really is no hope. They've been one of the tamest channels around for about two-years now. Of course, this is assuming the breaches concern content.

Sad RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
yep could be very bad news for Elite, 4 more investigations current ... pooo Sad

Ofcom findings in April

Ofcom notes that these contraventions of the BCAP Code by the Licensees occurred after various published Ofcom decisions, but before Ofcom issued on 28 January 2011 new and detailed guidance to daytime and adult sex chat advertising broadcasters about compliance with the BCAP Code.

In light of our serious concerns, Ofcom has already held a meeting with the Licensees to discuss their compliance arrangements. Ofcom puts Primetime TV and Over 18 TV on formal notice that it must take all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure its channels comply with the BCAP Code in the future. If further breaches of the BCAP Code occur, Ofcom will consider further regulatory action.
