Rapidshare

Since the average size of my video files is about 30MB and the fact that they were all uploaded over 4 months ago and the initial download rush has ceased, I am not affected much on my free account with its 1GB per day limit.
As can be seen in the attachment showing the most recently downloaded files, (screenshot taken this morning) downloads were still being done at not long before midnight last night.
The other attachment shows the most downloaded files of my 50+ vids that still remain at rapidshare. They gradually get deleted if a file is not downloaded within a 30 day period, but I have not lost any in the last few weeks.

Before the new terms came into effect I was getting email alerts every week that one of my videos would be deleted in a few days if there weren't any downloads. Since the new terms I have yet to receive any notices and it now says under the FAQ:

"If you don't have RapidPro and you didn't log in to your account for 90 days, your account and your files will be deleted. This means as long as you login frequently, your files will be stored indefinitely."

Of all the changes they've made that's the only one that's made sense. Surely they'll change that in the coming weeks.

Can anyone help me? I have rapid pro but everytime i click the link to download it says "File owner's public traffic exhausted" - this is ever download i try any help would be great!!

because Rapidshare have changed their policy on downloads, people can only download 1 GB of data from free user of Rapidshare, which unfortunately the poster (Quiquems) is...its 30 GB for premium members

Ah right so basically a 250mb upload can only be downloaded 4 times unless the owner goes premium? That sucks!!

Ah right so basically a 250mb upload can only be downloaded 4 times unless the owner goes premium? That sucks!!

For free accounts, the 1 GByte limit is only the total downloaded in a single day. The counter gets reset to 0 at midnight and then another 1 GByte becomes available. This is all explained in the earlier posts in this thread.

It means you need to read the last dozen or so posts in this thread!

Just wondering if there has been any discussion about finding a new file host to replace rapidshare? Is there a place to make suggestions?

I know of a filehost that doesn't limit bandwidth or speed and that's very easy to use, it doesn't delete files either.

The filehost is Dropcanvas - find it at dropcanvas.com

Admittedly there isn't a whole lot of storage space for regular users (only around 6 GB) but users can get an extra 100GB for around $10 a month (extra 20GB is only $4 a month) so it's not overly expensive.

Just a suggestion but I've not had any problems in the 4 months that I've been using it.
