He's a smug sod though and not that good a presenter at any of his gigs.

It's quite amusing seeing all of the luvvies and leftists at the BBC trying to defend the massive gender inequality and lack of any kind of ethnic diversity of their 'top' earners. Disgraceful really.

So the 2.2 million that Chris Evans earned didn't include his Top Gear fees.

So what did the viewers/listeners get for their money.

He now works 5 morning a week. But last year he was often away working on Top Gear. So lets say that he did 46 weeks of 4 days of 2.5 hours

= 460 hours work
= nearly £4,800 per hour

And what are his talents.
Does he present a main TV programme
No, he's just on the radio in the morning being an annoying little f...

Should it not stop at just presenters, should we also know how much other BBC staff earn, from the cameraman at football matches to executives?

Read the full report - it includes all staff who earn over £150,000 who they had to report

The alternative would be another ITV, look at the difference in breakfast TV, BBC professional news output, weather and local news with travel, ITV Celebrity Soap opera obsessed with crappy quizzes.
It also pays for the infastructure for things like the transmitters the other channels use
And by my calculations amounts to roughly £2.80 per week. I for one don't think that's a bad bargain.

Agree with you it's not bad value for money, BUT, should they spend vast sums on 'star' salaries or strive to improve their content with some of that money?

RE: BBC salaries
The BBC should be a subscription service then all those people who love it so much can pay for it and the rest of us can pay to watch what we want.

RE: BBC salaries
the way we consume tv has changed so much, the 'license fee' has become obsolete. millennials don't even remember tv without subscription services. i think the license fee should be scrapped but i do worry for the independence of free news. if you look at fox and lately cnn, they have agenda's and are biased towards right and left. the bbc for all it's faults is where i go if i want an independent view on the news. we might loose that if it becomes subscription based, which is worrying.

the rest of it's programmes, well, meh. Smile

RE: BBC salaries
One of the interesting things is who is NOT on the list.
David Dimbleby?

All these celebs(?) are on more than the Prime Minister with little on no responsibility compared to the PM.

Laura Kuenssberg gives the PM shit when interviewing her and she is on a inflated salary above that of the PM.

Stop the world I want to get off.
