Which is terrifying considering. People keep saying he wouldn't push the button, because he has too much to lose, but I'm not sure that's true, attacking Ukraine is hardly rational and the demands he's made for peace make no sense, meaning he in no way wants peace. Hopefully the 66,000 Ukrainians returning to fight, and the (hopefully not too late) fighter jets from Poland will help in some way.

American politicians also can't be trusted, considering Rubio and Daines (surprise, they're Republicans) posted screen grabs of a call with Zelensky while it was happening, risking his safety, fucking idiots.

Putin badly underestimated the amount of Ukranian resistance the Russian invaders would face, and therefore the casualties they would sustain and the likely timescale involved in the war. And he underestimated how much his soldiers would need to know what they were doing, as their performance in the field has often been chaotic. He also terribly underestimated the response around the world, from foreign governments and from corporations too, and that means that he can only destroy Ukraine by inflicting great damage on Russia at the same time.

So we have accepted 50 Ukrainian refugees so far. Germany accepted 33,000 on Saturday alone. Poland, Romania & Hungary are receiving 100’s of thousands. At the weekend when we refused 150 at Calais we told them to go to Paris to get a Visa.

Despite the expected deployment of forces from Belarus to support the Russians in Ukraine, so far it just hasn't happened. The president of Belarus claims that his forces aren't needed, but rumours are circulating that the Belarusian troops are largely refusing to fight.

A Kremlin spokeman has given some conditions to end the War.

1. Ukraine cease military action
2. Changing its constitution to enshrine neutrality
3. Acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory
4. Recogniseg the separatist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as independent states.
5. Don't join the EU.

The conditions aren't things Ukraine should or would agree to. The ramping up against civilian targets is to try and force them into submission (as you'd expect from Putin), it's a cold, calculated attack, where they used a ceasefire to regroup and then attack again, cowards firing upon unarmed civilians. Child murders!
