That was a crazy crazy match against Sweden. The penalty shoot out was particularly bonkers. How on earth England won that I will never know but they got it done in the end.

I've found the difference between men and women's football.
Men sometimes score penalties

Spain even missed a pen in their next game , surprised by that for the best team in the world and to be fair had a really poor game against Switzerland , i thought that was going to be 6-0 , only 2-0 in the end.

So on that performance maybe that give England a chance against Spain if they get there and of course Spain still have to get there to.

The conversion rate of penalties in women's World Cups is actually higher than in men's World Cups.

Men’s World Cup (79.8% historical, 58% in 2022) vs. Women’s World Cup (76.9% historical, 77.3% in 2023). The men’s rate is slightly higher historically but was lower in 2022, possibly due to change in law regarding keeper's feet having to be behind the line increasing number of retakes.

I'm not a stats man but I've watched the last couple of games and I've seen loads of penalties taken and very few scored.

But I lost interest after muttering, "couldn't hit a barn door".

Germany have beaten France 6-5 on sudden death penalties to reach the semi finals in a dramatic last eight tie.
