I had a call a couple of weeks ago asking if I ever get unsolicited calls I don't want. Beyond parody

I report them straight to my phone company but at least now I have cordless phone with nuisance call block on it haven't had a call since I've had it though I was getting emails saying my phone line was part hacked but deleted it straight away

I remember reading a computer magazine once about one person saying that he played along with the Microsoft scam. He was asked to turn on his computer then open Windows-"but it's cold out why would I open my Windows" and the other one he was asked to click on 'my computer' to which he replied "I can't click on your computer I'm on mine" Just doing this will drive them mad and they will go away. Where cold calls are concerned just say "I'm sorry we don't answer cold calls" and put the phone down. You could do what a friend of ours did and pretend to be a police officer and tell them that the call is being recorded-that got rid of them.

It was a she! No it was just a spur of the moment thing and they are hardly likely to report you for it.

That only applies if you do it to commit an offence.

My other half got a cold call from an insurance company.
They said it was regarding her recent car accident.
As she's 'pissed off' with cold calls, she screamed down the phone, and asked how they knew and told them not to tell me as she hadn't told me about it'

They cut her off
