That's great to see about Happy Gilmore 2. It's a film I have been looking forward to because due to me being a massive Ice Hockey fan and cameos from WWE wrestler Becky Lynch & AEW wrestler MJF.

Definitely getting it watched asap now

2 for the price of 1...

Fantastic Four (2005). I've watched this one several times and always enjoy it. As a fan of the old animated series when I was a kid, I thought they got the casting pretty much spot on for this with the only issue being the writing for Victor Von Doom, who should have been way more than some 2nd rate New York Villain. Having said that, Julian McMahon managed to polish that turd quite well.

Also. Jessica Alba Cool

Fantastic Four - First Steps

Now this review is going to be a work in progress, because I suspect this movie will grow on me more after another viewing or 2. Going into this one, my Pedro Pascal fatigue was at max level....they say you're never more than 6 feet from a Rat and that's how it feels with Pedro at the moment, he can't be too far away from being omnipresent. However, he did do a pretty good job as Reed Richards although for me, Ioan Gruffudd was just a little bit better.

Surprisingly, Marvel resisted the temptation to fanny around with the character's long-established back stories, unlike like the piss-poor 2015 effort which had Susan Storm being adopted for some reason.

I'll give it a temporary 7/10 until I can enjoy it at home a couple of times.

And finally....people eating in cinemas. Can you not manage 2 hours without shovelling overpriced shit down your throats? I'm trying to watch a movie not sit bang in the middle of feeding time at the zoo!

Behold the field in which I grow my fucks. Lay thine eyes upon it and thou shalt see that it is barren.

The Naked Gun (2025)

An incredibly funny 4th film in The Naked Gun franchise that had me laughing & chuckling throughout. Liam Neeson is fantastic as Frank Drebin Jr and Pamela Anderson is brilliant as Beth Davenport

Don't go when the credits start as there is an incredibly hilarious scene partway through the credits as well as a nod to the first Naked Gun and a hilarious song dedicated to Beth Bounce

28 Years Later

Absolutely brilliant!! A really good movie imo.

I've seen all the 28 Days, Weeks Later, all of those movies (although I think 28 Weeks Later was a bit underrated imo).

So to 28 Years Later, this is basically a rites of passage movie for Spike (Alfie Williams), the story itself is quite an emotional watch and I would recommend this highly. It's a bit of a slow burn but totally engaging at the same time.

The way they've introduced an evolved the way of the Infected, which they themselves have adapted to over time is a great idea and the scenes involving the infected and the action is really good.

The cast are all great! special shout out to Jodie Corner in this and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Ralph Fiennes is great and although mysterious at first, I found these the most emotional scenes.

I do understand that with most zombie/Infected movies you'd expect a lot of killing and blood and guts but this has a great story to add to what you'd expect from a zombie/Infected movie - very emotional, worth a look for sure, a slow burn in places but never bored, give it a go!

Anora

Spoiler warning if you haven't seen it.

I finally got round to watching Anora. It is open ended, like many independent films are, and left me with more questions than answers. Although it's probably better that way.

Will Anora go back to work or does she have the financial stability now so she doesn't have to? Igor gave her the ring back, does she keep it or sell it for more financial stability, and what will the Sakharovs do if they found out she had it and sold it?

Should she now get with Igor for further stability, or is he too much of a link with the Sakharovs and she wants to sever all links? She had sex with Igor at the end, if you call it sex if she keeps her underpants on. Did Igor have to relieve himself on her underpants?

7/10 for the film
9/10 for use of the film as a platform for Mikey Madison's acting ability.
10/10 for Mikey Madison's acting performance. Well worth the best actress Oscar and the BAFTA she won for it.

Jurassic World Rebirth

An utter pile of shit! The only reason I kept watching this movie until the end was because I find Scarlett Johansson hot Big Grin, she started off in a nice white tight top but that soon changed Rolleyes

The action is ok at best, but the dialogue the actors and actresses have been given is cringe worthy, really bad. The film itself is rubbish and that's 2 hours of my life I won't get back Rolleyes

Superman (2025)

First thoughts are this is a really great movie Smile. I can only judge this as a superhero movie because, forgive me, I'm not into comics, the Superman legacy (although the Christopher Reeve's Superman movies were great for me growing up as a kid at the time and I did watch them a lot).

In this movie the special effects are huge and very impressive, I thought David Corenswet did a really great job at portraying Superman imo, the take over from Henry Cavill were some pretty big shoes to fill but he nailed it imo.

Not everyone is going to agree with this imo, I did see images beforehand and read about a super dog in this movie but it turned out to be quite entertaining and I was never put off by this.

Nathan Fillion and his gang of fighting warriors add a goofy but entertaining elemet to this, also Nicholas Hoult does a great job at being Lex Luthor.

Overall I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie and it's the best Superman movie I've seen for quite some time Smile
