I see the BDO are starting their World Championship this weekend clashing with PDC finals

^^^They always overlap slightly.

What happens after this year's BDO championships are over? which TV company has the rights for lakeside? I'm sure I read somewhere that the BBC has ended the contract for screening

^ Still unknown. Possible interest from channel 5. But the likelihood is the exclusive rights will head to BT or Eurosport. Sadly. Might be for the best though. The BDO championship REALLY needs a fresh, up to date look. That red & yellow stage set looks horrific.

EDIT: The BDO could use ditching Tony Green too. He is ridiculous. Total dinosaur.

It is a shame and yes it does need a fresh look I hope both BT & Eurosport see sense and back off and let Channel 5 get the rights though I would not be surprised if ITV snap it up and put in on ITV4 so that it remains as free to air

To be honest this was the first time i have seen the PDC World championship as didnt have sky sports but its been free this year on its own channel to sky hd subscribers and have to say its a far better championship and a better standard of player than the BDO in fact the BDO is almost Amatuerish compared to the PDC events i've seen on itv 4

the problem is that the bdo world championship at the lakeside is really just a large pub. would it be better moving to a larger venue mind you the history is there it would be like moving the Snooker World Champs away from the crucible. althought the snooker doesnt seem as dated

Would ITV go for bdo incase it pissed off the PDC

Haven't ITV4 shown some PDC stuff before? I'd like them to stay on any FV-supported channel, really. As long as they don't try and sign Colin bloody Murray too.

Yeah Itv4 has Shown PDC tournaments thats why they prob wont go for the BDO world championships. in case the PDC look to take those tournaments away and give them to sky

Yeah, I meant that would count against them being likely to go for BDO.
