.. and this is another of my points. The girls across these channels (and the majority of others actually aswell) almost are always laid down. Why?

The office set, at least, would/should promote the girl sitting upright and/or standing up. And where the girls then do (as DanniP said, only a very small percentage of the time, unfortunately) the camera does not adjust accordingly. Bloody annoying for those that hate the girls laying down, me anyway.
