So, I just made a visa card payment to EE for £58.23 to clear my "extra charges".
My next scheduled Direct Debit is due on the 17th, but I'm actually billed between the periods of the 9th of each month.
Thankfully, after activating premium rate call-barring on both my landline and EE mobile, I now CAN NOT make anymore calls to our scantilly clad professional flirters

But this does mean that my upcoming direct debit will, for the first time since August 2017, be for the actual agreed contract amount without the "financially crippling" charges aforementioned in the title of this thread.
I dunno wether or not to whoop with joy or have a good skrike, but I do advise anyone, even if it's just for a little while until you can get your finances in better shape, Google how you can activate call-barring via your own phone network.
Good luck everyone and thank f**k for that
