RE: Liverpool FC
I said when Rodgers was being talked about I prefer Roberto Martinez as his style is more of an intrusive attack, whereas Rodgers is slower with too much passing at times. All the possession is great if we're always looking to thread the ball into the centre of the box but as we've seen before Daniel Sturridge arrived & when he was missing his pace & movement down the centre is vital to our play. If Rodgers is to succeed then he needs to get the team being more clinical with their runs & passing.
Suarez needs to play a lot more central when he's the only striker as our midfield doesn't look like they want to get near the six yard box, hopefully Coutinho prefers to do this, rather than stop his run once he's 25yrd out.
I'm puzzled to how some think our young players are shit? We've got the making of a decent squad, Joe Allen is only 22 & this is his first move, it just so happens it's to a club that’s supposed to be challenging the top 4 spots, but has been struggling for a few seasons. Yeah he's not very strong & can often play a safe side pass rather than an inquisitive forward one, but this will be assessed through the season i.e. now he's out of the team. Players don't just get left out, they get left out so they can get upto scratch on the training field when being helped by the coaching staff, this is what Allen will be doing at the moment along with taking a look at his own game & role in the team, the same as Jordan Henderson & Stewart Downing did & came back better players.
Some of the players being suggested as should be sold is silly, I thing Andy Carroll is as much gone & Downing, as well as he's playing, there's better players in that role such as Adam Johnson, although a cheeky swap deal may be out of the question, also Tom Ince?
It takes time for young players to shine, look at Raheem Sterling who started great & now looks poor, once you've been found out in the Premier League it's a long way back & for a young player that road can be twice as long but if they're good enough they'll make it but it probably won't be this season, throwing shit at them is not the way to go about it.
That nice pair of leather shoes always take time to bed in so the week of blisters are necessary.
Darren Bent is very hit & miss & with the money being as tight as it is I doubt we'd get him for £8m & even that would be a gamble. I think if we bought Tom Ince we could look at changing Sterling's position to striker, which wouldn't be too hard as he's at the start of his career, he looks like he could do the same at Theo Walcott?
