R.I.P Ray French

Former England international in both Rugby League and Rugby Union Ray French has passed away at the age of 85. He played for St Helens in both codes, in the case of League over 200 times winning the Championship and Challenge Cup.

He will be possibly best remembered as the voice of Rugby League where he became a commentary legend for the BBC over many years.

Sincerest condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.

Don't know anything about Rugby.

Just wanted to say one thing , can we put July 2025 down as Nightmare July because the amount of deaths there have been in that month is unbelievable.

Have to it was a sad day in Rugby League with Ray's Passing.
Took over from Eddie Waring and I'm sure there are many who would argue the case for either in who was better, but Never the less Ray did have the difficult job of following Eddie.
