Just the one change for Europe from the previous Ryder Cup, with Rasmus in & Nicolai out.
This is Europe's least changed team in Ryder Cup history., Donald sees this as a result of the quality of those players. As is often the case some who have qualified early will lose form, the picks are not controversial in any way, Donald has chosen the next 5 best qualified, plus Rahm, who was player of the year on the LIV Tour.
Personally I have my doubts about Matt Fitzpatrick as a Match Play golfer, after a dip in form for 18 months or so he is almost back to his best & shown tremendous consistency, I just don't feel this is the best format for him. I'd have taken a punt on Harry Hall who made it into the Tour Championship & is a quality putter.

Fourballs (alternate shot) is the hardest of all to play for various reasons, getting into any sort rhythm can be a challenge, sometimes going a number of holes without a meaningful putt or maybe an approach shot or chip. It's akin to a snooker player sitting back & watching their opponent scoring heavily for a number of frames.
Usually Europe fair well, but I can't call it with this mornings matches, the way the draw has worked out I'd take 2-2, only Rory & Tommy standout as a possible banker, the rest look open, although how can you ever back against Scottie, match 2 looks tough for Europe & half a point would feel like a win from that.

Europe tend to do well in the 4 balls etc. And the US usually make a comeback in the singles.
So we need a good start, and a good lead at the end of day2.
