VAR In Boxing - Kingsmind - 28-08-2023 14:23

It seems to be a topic up for discussion since the controversial decision in the Usyk Vs Dubois match.

So i want to know your thoughts on this?.

I think it would work in Boxing a lot better then Football anyway , i mean can you imagine how dramatic it would be if you get a win by this route.

They have a video ref in MMA, works OK but fights can't be re-started after using it.

Not clear on how VAR would work in Boxing?? It is clearly too subjective, but how you introduce objectivity - other than having the same points scoring system the amateurs used??. Again, how you measure impact in both senses of the word??, I am not sure?? other than a stoppage or KO in which case, it is obvious! Maybe there can be some 'absolutes' to measure, rather than what an individual might 'like'?? I have often thought that effectiveness and technical precision, should come ahead of 'work rate' for example??
