New Zealand vs England 2014 - Roger Patterson - 27-05-2014 09:39

How can it be that England are going to play a 3 match Test series in New Zealand and can't pick their strongest team for the first Test? Can anyone explain this to me?

Scheduling chaos. The test series should have started 2 weeks later, but New Zealand somehow persuaded England to start it this weekend.

It's a case of the primacy of club teams over national teams. The Kiwi's want these international fixtures fitted around their teams playing in the Super 14 competition. It should really be the other way round.

After leading for much of the game England eventually go down, New Zealand snatching it at the end by 20-15.

Not a bad result for a make shift England team..

It's certainly good in comparison to how France are doing against Australia. OuchRolleyes

England make 5 changes for the 2nd test. I can't help thinking that the 1st test was something of a missed opportunity, as New Zealand didn't play that well but still came out on top.

The team will be great strengthened by the inclusion of the Saracems & Harlequins players.
Billy Twelvetree's has also return from injury.

Interesting that Lancaster plans to play Manu Tuilagi on the wing..

And we have a very strong replacement bench for the next test.

Similar outcome to the last time New Zealand played Ireland in Dublin. Ireland were in control but the Kiwis scored after the 80 minute hooter had sounded.

It's good to see that although we lost 28-27 today we pushed New Zealand all the way

Another narrow defeat for England but to be fair I've got to say that New Zealand deserved their victory.
