Hey guys and girls just to let you know as i have had a few messages asking where i have been the last few days that i currently have the dreaded swine flu so have had to cancel a few of my nights at work this week. Im popping those tamiflu tablets down my throat and hoping to be back on your screens for my wednesday shift. See you all soon xxx

Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm afraid Tamiflu isn't really very effective as it is reliant on being taken very early in the course of the H1N1 virus. Take it easy, drink plenty of fluids, don't be afraid of taking a few painkillers if you're feeling lousy and get plenty of rest. I'm not a clinician but 'swine flu' is really interesting - although given that you've got it and I haven't had it you may not share that view at this moment!

Some people might have had it much worse but to be honest i think its no different from just getting the formal flu. But as your username states your a Doctor i will listen to your advise and drink lots of fluid, thanks doc
