Guodong is like granite!!! He whitewashed Aaron Hill 5-0, and only let him score 46 points in the entire match. Guodong finished off in style with 2 centuries in the last 2 frames.
McGill currently leads Kyren 3-2.

More late night drama for Yuan Sijun. He should have won 5-3 but the nerves got to him in frame 8 and he missed an easy red when he was 17 up with 35 on the table. Yuan continued to be a bag of nerves, and Robertson was the more relaxed player as he calmly amassed the points to force a decider. Yuan managed to calm his nerves to make a 57 break in the decider, and held on to become this event's surprise semi-finalist and reach his first semi-final since the 2019 Gibraltar Open. Hawkins is next. It doesn't matter how close it gets, Yuan must win!

I have to say the one table set up at The Tempodrom is absolutely stunning.
The atmosphere is electric as well.
No surprise that the tournament is so popular amongst the players.

I will of course hope Yuan makes it, but bitter experience suggests it'll be Hawkins winning a boring final on Sunday night against either opponent.

Barry Hawkins duly recovered from 2-0 down to beat Yuan Sijun 6-2 with some excellent match snooker and thereby set up a final with World Champion Kyren Wilson on Sunday.
If both play to the level produced in the semi finals it should be an engrossing encounter. The crowds in both semi finals were amazing.
