^ It was a great fight for sure, and up to the decisive finish (that is some statement from Joyce) relatively close I thought! I was quite surprised that Parker didn't seem to be able to go through the gears.

Tyson Fury claimed a tenth round stoppage of Derrick Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to set up a potential undisputed unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk. It was a one sided affair in truth with Chisora outclassed from the start.

So another opportunity for world status comes around for Anthony Yarde! Like his first crack against Sergey Kovalev, he is facing one of the very best in Artur Beterviev tomorrow night! Having come so close to upsetting the odds against one of the greats in Kovalev - fitness did for him in the end, he certainly can be said to have a decent chance here. I still think though, that he may find Beterbiev a step too far for him. All we can do is wish him the best of luck, and hope that after the time he has had recently with losing four closest members of his family, he gets just a little of the good fortune that you might suggest he is due!

Well it was a brave effort from Yarde.
He went toe to toe with Beterbiev for a good while before succumbing to an eighth round stoppage courtesy of a powerful right hand.

^ It was indeed brave, and there wasn't much he did wrong, Beterbiev is just on a different level to everyone else (as was Kovalev when Yarde took him on). I will guarantee that Yarde would have dropped many an opponent with the shots he connected with last night, as it was, Beterbiev - while clearly feeling many of them - cut eye included - (and being made to look a bit unsteady on occasion) was largely untroubled! It was somewhat ironic that Yarde was pulled out in the eighth, the same round that he had Kovalev in a heap of bother, and just couldn't see it through there either!
Nowhere near the end for Yarde. Hard to see a way through at light heavy now, with Beterbiev holding the three belts and intent on unification with Bivol! Cruiserweight an option?? No easy fights there either though!
NB Neither fighter should have been made to wait around for that Jake Paul/Tommy Fury nonsense. Bad form F. Warren

Joshua scaled 255 and 1/4 lbs for his fight tomorrow wirh Jerome Franklin. I'd rather much see Joshua box a few rounds before stopping Franklin it woild be a far better message to send to Fury than a 1st rd KO. However I have no illusion Franklin has come to give AJ a very hard fight as he was 23lbs lighter.

I know that AJ has been inactive for an extended period, but he laboured so much on Saturday Night, that another world shot is light years away surely!!? There were moments when I thought that Franklyn was going to end the dream once - and - for - all, replacing it for a nightmare!
