As we learn from snooker, 126 other players would have liked to be there, but they weren't quite good enough. At least Anisimova can now be tagged a grand slam finalist.

& well done to Swiatek Smile

That was a nightmare on Centre Court for Anisimova. Poor lass. I don't like to see that sort of thing in a final.

6-0 6-0 to Swiatek.

What a shame for the spectacle of the final. All very deflating.Sad.

Felt for her as it was only taking 57 minutes

Let's see how she recovers from that and progresses

She'll be back, no doubt whatsoever.

Jannik Sinner of Italy is the Wimbledon champion for the first time after beating two time winner Carlos Alcaraz 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4.

The best man on the day won. I thought after a close two sets, Sinner was on top for the next two. He controlled Alcaraz and limited his options. Too powerful on the forehand and too accurate with the serve.

Alcaraz will be back. Both of these will probably be dominating the slams for years to come. This is the rivalry of now, and with both guys being so young, it will be the rivalry, I think, for the far future.

Congratulations on a fantastically efficient performance from Jannik Sinner.

Carlos Alcaraz must wonder what hit him and how he ever lost that.

For a lot of the match, Alcaraz didn't do a lot wrong. But I think Sinner got in his head a lot towards the end of the third and fourth sets. Alcaraz kind of ran out of ideas as the questions from Sinner kept coming.

One of these two has now won the last seven slams. They are going to be around for a while. It's up to other players to step up and create a new big three or big four. It's very important to have expansion in tennis. The performances of Sinner and Alcaraz will hopefully inspire more players to aspire to their level.

Just wanted to say also I've really enjoyed the analysis from the commentary teams throughout these two weeks. It was a pleasure to see and hear Andre Agassi and Todd Woodbridge, two legends, giving their insight in to the game.

Brilliant entertainment.

Well done, another European winner Wink

Took advantage from a strike of luck , he could've easily went out against Dimitrov and now Sinner has finally won Wimbledon and is amongst the elite , i mean he was always elite anyway but when you see what Alcaraz has done going 5-0 in Slams , couldn't quite get to 7 like Federer or past that , retaining the French and Wimbledon.

Defeating Top Players in Slams like Djokovic X 2 and in the first final against him he beat Djokovic at his best and Sinner X 1 , that's why i have always considered Alcaraz a better player.

But now Sinner has finally proved himself by beating a Top Player in Alcaraz , so now i can consider Sinner a Great Player to. So well done to him.
