Some very tired bodies out there. Surely the bowling unit needs a refresh, but it still wouldn't surprise me if they go in with the same attack at the Oval. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Charlemagne - 27-07-2025 20:51 Stoke's looked crocked at the end of this test. I can't see him bowling in the next one. He kept grabbing hold of the back of his leg which indicates one thing. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 28-07-2025 13:27 Jamie Overton has been added to the squad for the 5th Test at The Oval on Thursday. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - 7 stars of the orient - 29-07-2025 13:14 I've only just found out what happened at the end of the match, when England wanted to go off and got very sulky when India opted to stay on. I'm just glad that India ignored England having a tantrum and carried on. Those two guys deserved their centuries. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Charlemagne - 29-07-2025 14:09 ^ And not just that it has a carry through to the next match. It shows that they can't be pushed about. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 29-07-2025 14:19 ^^ i have to agree, first the partnership between Rahul & Gill after being 0-2 & then Washington & Jadeja secured the draw when the game was still in the balance when they came together. The fact that England chose to rest their front line bowlers didn't really take anything away from how well they played. The pitch favoured batting over bowling, the fact that England amassed 669 was a clear indicator that batting was relatively trouble free for those who applied themselves. Only the pressure of the situation looked like derailing their march to safety. The only winner was the docile Old Trafford pitch. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 30-07-2025 12:24 Stokes is out of the 5th Test at The Oval with a Bicep Tendon injury, Ollie Pope with captain the side. England make 4 changes, Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton & Josh Tongue. Carse & Archer are both rested, with Liam Dawson left out. Bethell & Root with provide the spin options. Leaving out a frontline spinner seems like a gamble on the surface, although Surrey have done the same in recent times. The difference is that India have only failed to pass 350 once in the series. Dawson may have retained his place if he had shown a little more wicket taking ability in the 4th innings at Old Trafford, he did offer control in the 1st innings. RE: England v India 2025- Test Match Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 30-07-2025 12:33 After initially stating that Bumrah would be available for the Oval Test, it is now understood that medical advice has ruled him out, it was always the plan to play him in 3 Tests as they are managing his back issues in order to safeguard his long term future. Akash Deep would be a likely replacement if he has sufficiently recovered from a groin injury. |
