RE: Darts - Kingsmind - 01-01-2020 22:45 Couldn't be more happier for him i have always liked Wright and in my opinion he is a shock World Champion not to the standard of Cross but still a shock winner because he is one of the big players so that's why the shock is not to the standard of Cross and i never see him ever winning it i don't think he thought himself he would win it. But anyway couldn't be more happier for Wright as i said. Well done Wright. RE: Darts - Doddle - 01-01-2020 22:49 In the spirit of balance, I hate his guts and I'm miffed he won. RE: Darts - mikedafc - 01-01-2020 23:01 Fallon Sherrock and John Henderson first two confirmed for Premier League RE: Darts - lovebabes56 - 02-01-2020 07:33 There's never been a celebrity pro am tournament has there? I saw Jurgen Klopp play darts on youtube before Xmas, and if he ever quit as a football manager at some he'd be quite a good darts player if he dedicated himself to it. I recall that the News of the World sponsored a competition for amateur players didn't they? I do question the change of Venue though to move after 33 years at Lakeside and into Indigo at the O2 Less than ten percent of tickets for the 2020 BDO World Championship have been sold, according to leaked figures on Tuesday. The 42nd staging of the BDO’s show-piece event is due to take place from January 4-12 at the Indigo at The O2 Arena in London for the first time after the BDO announced it was to leave Lakeside after 33 years. BDO Chairman Des Jacklin revealed during last month’s World Masters that 1,000 tickets had been sold within the first week of tickets going on sale, however little progress has been made since, with latest figures appearing to show less than 2,000 tickets sold for the entire event so far. Situated within The O2 complex, Indigo O2 is a 2,350 capacity venue designed in a theatre-style configuration, featuring seating on the balcony and the floor. Currently, just nine per cent of the venue has been filled, with as little as 36 tickets sold for the Tuesday afternoon session and just one ‘all tournament’ package having been purchased at a cost of £831.50. Many fans have criticised the inflated prices, with cheapest afternoon session tickets costing £26 plus booking fees and the cheapest evening session ticket priced at £36. In comparison, cheapest afternoon session tickets for December’s PDC World Championship are priced at £23, with cheapest evening session tickets £33 for tiered seating. Around 12,000 tickets were sold in advance of last year’s BDO World Championship at Lakeside, while a number of tickets were made available free of charge to County members. The men’s tournament will feature 40 players competing for the BDO’s show-piece silverware and 16 women battling it out for the most prestigious prize in the ladies game. In August, Jacklin revealed the Men’s prize fund will remain at £300,000 while the Ladies will almost double to £54,000 with the winner’s share rising from £12,000 to £20,000. The decline in ticket sales and no current title sponsor could yet impact those prize funds. Maybe St66 could sponsor if they need the money!! ![]() ![]() |
