Was much better fight between Eubank jr and Groves than I was expecting but Eubank needs to work on his boxing as he is a fighter/brawler and will always lose to a better boxer

Deontay Wilder prevailed in a real gut-check fight to stop unbeaten Cuban KO artist Luis Ortiz in the 10th round to retain his WBC Heavyweight title in the early hours this morning. The fight didn't click into gear until around the 4th round with Wilder boxing cagily & looked pretty ragged at times before dropping Ortiz in the 5th.Ortiz rocked Wilder badly towards the end of the 7th where he looked out on his feet but managed to survive.Wilder's showed heart & conditioning as he rallied back to drop Ortiz twice in the 10th with the ref stopping the fight.

Wilder looked very awkward & ragged at times against the charging bull-like big punching Ortiz but he certainly answered questions about his 'fragile chin' & heart to add to his devastating punch-power & Lightweight speed to move on & face the winner of the upcoming Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker.

Just watched Ireland's Katie Taylor win her World title unification fight against Victoria Bustos.
Taylor is absolutely brilliant I must say.
Has made the transition to the professional circuit with ease.
Fleet of foot, powerful, dynamic, great hand speed and equally good at distance or close in.
And she seems so charming and warm too. She is great.
Ireland has every right to be very proud of her.

In an action packed weekend of boxing the fight of the weekend will take part in Madison Square Garden with 2 Weight World Champion Vasyl Lomachenko steps up to Lightweight in only his 12th pro fight to take on the teak-tough WBA Champion Jorge Linares (who beat Anthony Crolla twice).

Bellew stops Haye in round five by TKO

RE: Boxing Chat & Discussion - Tractor boy - 05-05-2018 23:20

Haye looked in great shape but his punch resistance and reflexes seem to have gone. At 37, it's time for the hayemaker to call it a day.

I'd like to thank Skybet for believing the Haye hype for the second time and enabling me to make a very happy profit Big Grin

Haye is finished not even good enough for a fight on Dave....
Joyce must of busted tnt's ribs, hurt him from the first punch, he is an old fashioned slugger, think he will fight Fury in 2/3 fights and destroy him, just moves forward swinging leather.....

With the farcical Tyson Fury comeback fight the past weekend (there looked a better fight in the crowd mid-fight than the Main Event) Tony Bellew has called out Fury which I reckon will happen this year particularly as Fury had been baiting Bellew on twitter during the build-up to Bellew v Haye 2.

On another note David Haye announced the inevitable when he called time on his boxing in-ring career & has said all his focus will be on his Hayemaker promotions where he has a good group of up & comers ie MVP,Joe Joyce etc.

Wishing Haye all the best for the future and hope he can get his fights on a more mainstream channel in future.. being on Dave doesn't do him justice!!

If Bellew does fight Fury I think it will be a fight where someone is going to get seriously hurt
