Loving today's play, always a good atmosphere at Edgbaston but the crowd seem in even better voice today (not surprising really though, lol)

India has again looked very poor again... All out for 244
Several of their top order batsmen look over the top and are showing a lack of interest in the game.
Is Duncan Fletcher man enough to get rid of Tendulkar, Laxman, and Sewag?
And also remove a few of the other poor performers.

Highly embarrassing to think that India were the best in the world after that! Yes they had injuries, but if you are the best you should be able to cover those injuries with quality players, which is exactly what England can do!
So impressed with England's aggression and approach, you could tell they wanted it way more than the Indians, who's bowling attack has been shown to be the joke that it is! They deserve their position at the top.
Will be interesting to see if they can do it to India in India.
South Africa seem to pose the only realistic threat to England, but not sure when they play again...
Charlemagne, you make an excellent point, will Duncan had the guts to drop the 'superstars'? Will the BCCI allow him to?

South Africa play two series before England play again, so based on the scenario that England will beat India 4-0, SA can theoretically become number 1 after their December test if they win all their matches (or joint number one if they win them all and draw one). Sri Lanka can also theoretically become number one if they beat England by one match during next year's series, but to do so they'd have to win all of their tests during the two series they play this year - they play 6 tests this year against Australia and South Africa, so its an unlikely scenario.

People say India are poor, yes they haven't performed to expectation, but let's be honest, England have just been better in every department going.
They have a batting line up that goes on and on, and the bowling has been first class. Fielding suspect at times but over all decent. England have just been so dominant and so aggressive in every department, in this form they would blow away any team going.
Dhoni has never lost a test match until England, India were unbeaten for so so so long until now. Credit where credit is due, Englad have out classed them big time and deserve all the applause.
I hope this England team can be a dominant force for the next decade, it's relatively young and can keep going and going. It's a good time for English cricket, which can't be said to often....

Lots reasons why England are dominating,but IPL hasn't helped India's cause.Only Eoin Morgan played IPL & he's got by far the worst batting technique.I'd play James Taylor or an extra bowler in his place.Bresnan could bat at 7.England & it's players are putting Test Cricket 1st,India are not.
