RE: Snooker - Mellow - 19-02-2016 18:13 Ronnie in great form again to beat Mark Selby 5-1 RE: Snooker - Snooks - 20-02-2016 03:42 Semi Final draw: Neil Robertson v Mark Allen Ronnie O'Sullivan v Joe Perry RE: Snooker - circles_o_o_o - 20-02-2016 20:51 Some very strange goings-on on the red button coverage right now. They had to do a "total reset" on the system, and the players had to go on a break after the first frame. Currently showing odd snippets of a young John Parrot. RE: Snooker - Snooks - 20-02-2016 22:54 Ronnie O'Sullivan will play Neil Robertson in the final. O'Sullivan beat Joe Perry 6-3 while Robertson saw off Mark Allen 6-4. Mike Hallett is another one who's more interesting to listen to now than I ever found to watch as a player. Joe Perry's been impressive this week, particularly his win over Judd Trump. Should be a good final, but might easily go one way. RE: Snooker - Snooks - 21-02-2016 11:07 In theory O'Sullivan v Robertson should be an epic match. Both scoring heavily, both strong in the safety exchange, both potting long balls well. If both keep playing as they have been it will depend on who gets in first in the most frames. But if one player is not in top form and the other is then all the theory could go out the window. If there is one player who could beat Ronnie right now it is Neil Robertson but I am sitting firmly on the fence. I have no idea which way the match is going to go. RE: Snooker - circles_o_o_o - 21-02-2016 15:01 Every so often you see the referee lifting a red ball out of the corner pocket, because it's getting too full, and putting it into a different pocket, during the frame. Why has no one ever thought to just make the rails a bit longer on the black pockets so they hold more balls? RE: Snooker - Snooks - 21-02-2016 21:43 Ronnie O'Sullivan has tonight beaten Neil Robertson 9-5 to win the Welsh Open for the fourth time. Recovering from 5-2 down the Rocket won the last 7 frames including a 141 total clearance in the final frame to seal victory. RE: Snooker - Tractor boy - 21-02-2016 22:00 That was a masterclass from rocket Ronnie. RE: Snooker - Snooks - 22-02-2016 00:40 In all honesty neither player played anywhere like as well as they had done in the earlier rounds. The finish frames in one visit stuff of previous rounds was absent for most of the match. Both men made a catalogue of errors and I suspect it was down to them expecting each other to play flawless snooker which made them both feel they could not afford to make errors. Robertson had chances in all of the first four frames tonight from 5-3 up but contrived to lose all four and never regained any momentum from then on. The 141 aside it was a pretty poor match by the standards of what had gone before. |
