Appointing a Minister for Homelessness who drums up trade for her dept by turfing people out of the home she rented to them because she supposedly wants to sell it, then offering it for rent at £700pcm more a couple of months later is a whole new level of cuntishness. RE: Keir Starmer - and his miserable government - lovebabes56 - 10-08-2025 09:18 Add to that she is joint Cunt of the Week award with Rupert West MP who on Thursday thought the "boat approaching Gt Yarmouth" was full of immigrants and alerted coastguards, it actually turned out to be charity rowers. RE: Keir Starmer - and his miserable government - southsidestu - 10-08-2025 09:30 On the one hand Labour have been a lot better than the Tories at getting rid of ministers that have committed an act of misconduct, not that that's a particularly high bar, on the other it is pretty striking how many they have had to get rid of in a year. Actually it was Rupert Lowe MP who used to be in Reform UK & is now an independent mp RE: Keir Starmer - and his miserable government - southsidestu - 10-08-2025 16:03 ![]() ![]() According to a More in Common poll, Brits comfortably back the Online Safety Act & an even stronger majority back the principle of protecting children online over freedom of expression & concerns about privacy. When it comes to online, Reform types appear to be the most visceral in opposing the bill on grounds of freedom of expression, but even half of their prospective voters support the bill with only 1 in 3 opposing. Despite that, opposition to the bill is strongest among Reform supporters who are also the more likely to say protecting children online is not more important than freedom of expression or privacy. To those who are Reform minded, are in the camp who oppose the bill but are also motivated by the belief that immigration needs to be reduced & deportations ramped up, if you spend the majority of the weeks & months advocating against immigration due to a conflict of cultures resulting in grooming gangs like Rochdale & Telford, you can't really be surprised when nearly three quarters of the public prioritise keeping children safe online over freedom of speech & privacy. What these polls also illustrate is that it is a rookie mistake to confuse the vocal with the majority. Whilst the politically engage, left or right, might hate this bill for differing reasons the silent majority of Brits are more authoritarian, particularly when compared to peer nations like France of The US. The Brits love a ban.
