But, isn’t this how ISA’s started in 1999? At that time you could contribute £3,000 per year in a cash ISA, and if you wanted to contribute more it had to be a stocks and shares ISA up to an additional £4,000 per year, to a total annual ISA allowance of £7,000 per year.

prob did but they became equal at 20k each but now wants to change it so it penalises those that are careful with their money but not those that risk it all on the stock market only

After Truss and liberation day, the bond markets once again showing they are King, when Reeves was seen crying, fears that she may be getting the sack/resigning and possibly being replaced by a chancellor that perhaps wouldn't adhere to her fiscal rules the 10 yr yield went up & the pound went down, leading to Starmer & others effusively saying in interviews that she was secure in post long term. From looking dead and burried to the safest politician in Westminster.
