Props to Zhou, to see a 4-0 lead wiped out must hurt, and even after he got to a position where Kyren needed 4-5 snookers, they still had to carry on until Zhou finally got the drop on the World champ.

Tomorrow is the last day of Eurosport in the UK, and that might not be a bad thing as with Tubbs, Carter and Hawkins all winning again I'm rapidly losing interest in the closing stages of this tournament. Tubbs beat Ding, the Craptain put an end to Lilley's giant killing.

Zhou couldn't hold on to his lead today. He was leading Higgins 4-2, but Higgins won the last 3 frames to win 5-4. Pang Junxu won the all Chinese match up against Xu Si. Joe O'Connor is still going, he beat Michael Holt.

Hawkins has the Craptain in the quarter finals, at least one will go out, but one is guaranteed to go through.

Quarter Final Lineup:

Pang Junxu v John Higgins
Zak Surety v Tom Ford
Ali Carter v Barry Hawkins
Joe O'Connor v Tubbs

In the course of all those goings on John Higgins has equalled the record of Ronnie O'Sullivan by reaching his 146th ranking quarter final. One more for 147 Smile.

At least Carter or Hawkins will knock the other out, but it all feels sadly inevitable. I'd hope Ford might battle through to glory at last, but don't bet on it.

Thanks to Joe O'Connor for making it a memorable final day watching live snooker on Eurosport by making 3 centuries and thrashing Tubbs 5-1. Hopefully he can do something similar to Carter tomorrow. The Craptain narrowly beat Hawkins 5-4.

Essex Cueman Zak Surety has finally made his breakthrough, becoming the surprise semi-finalist for this event. The Basildon boy beat Tom Ford 5-3. John Higgins proved he's still got granite in him by whitewashing China's last hope for this event Pang Junxu 5-0.

There you go, another stunning real-life prediction Blush

That said, Tubs taking a dive is worth any leading with the chin. Props to Zak Surety, presumably ranking points a go go for making a semi final.

Come on John Higgins. Been way too long since his last title.

RE: The World Open - Doddle - 28-02-2025 14:31

Higgins beat Surety in a decider.

Granite Higgins was 5-3 behind but won the last 3 frames.
